Installing CATIAV5ToSolidWorks

Run the self extracting file SldCATIA.exe.
The next time you run SolidWorks the add-in "SolidWorks CATIA" should be checked in the Tools/Add-In dialog. If not, check this add-in.
In case of difficulties try to uncheck the other add-ins.
End installation.

Reading CATIA Files

In SolidWorks, go to the File Open menu and select one of three CATIA extensions "*.model" (CATIA model), "*.dlv", and "*.exp" (CATIA Export files), then select the appropriate CATIA file.

The SolidWorks parts created during conversion are automatically saved on the directory containing the CATIA file.

Options and Settings

CATIAV5ToSolidWorks options are available in the folder SldCATIA of the SolidWorks dialog Tools/Options/Third Party.

CATIA Entities Currently Converted

CATIAV5ToSolidWorks is designed to translate all the 3D CATIA models that produce SolidWorks assemblies, solids and surfaces.

Other entities like wireframes or drawings are ignored (these conversions are under development). Please let us know at info@radialsoft.com if you are interested in this functionality.

All entities needed for the conversion of a solid are included. For example, a circle which is used to define the geometry of an edge in the CATIA part will be converted to a SolidWorks' edge, but an isolated circle will not be converted.

System

CATIAV5ToSolidWorks works with SolidWorks 2005 and SolidWorks 2006.

CATIAV5ToSolidWorks is fully functional on Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

Evaluation Version

The evaluation version lets you test CATIAV5ToSolidWorks on up to three CATIA files. When loading the CATIA file, a Dialog box will appear asking for an unlock code. If you are online click the Internet button and a code will be automatically returned to you. Otherwise you can obtain an evaluation code at: Unlock codes for CATIAV5ToSolidWorks.

Caution: You need one different code per file. If you have several files to test, please request several codes.
