Installing CATIAV5ToSolidWorks
Reading CATIA FilesIn SolidWorks, go to the File Open menu and select one of following CATIA extensions: "*.CATPart" (CATIA part) then select the appropriate CATIA file. The SolidWorks parts created during conversion are automatically saved on the directory containing the CATIA file. For this reason the directory must be writeable and the disk must sufficient free space. When reading CATProduct all referenced parts must be present in the same place. Options and SettingsCATIAV5ToSolidWorks options are available in the folder SldCATIA of the SolidWorks dialog Tools/Options/Third Party. CATIA Entities currently convertedCATIAV5ToSolidWorks is designed to translate all the 3D CATIA models that produce SolidWorks assemblies, solids and surfaces. Other entities like wireframes or drawings are ignored. All entities needed for the conversion of a solid are included. For example, a circle which is used to define the geometry of an edge in the CATIA part will be converted to a SolidWorks' edge, but an isolated circle will not be converted. System RequirementsCATIAV5ToSolidWorks works with SolidWorks 2009 and SolidWorks 2010 32 bit and 64 bit. CATIAV5ToSolidWorks is fully functional on Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7. Evaluation VersionThe evaluation version lets you test CATIAV5ToSolidWorks on up to three CATIA files. When loading the CATIA file, a dialog box will appear asking for an unlock code. If you are online click the Internet button and a code will be automatically returned to you. See Evaluation Guide. If you have several files to test, you will have to request several codes. Your trial is limited to 3 files.
