Installing CATIA2SolidEdge

Run the self extracting file SECATIA.exe.
The next time you run SolidEdge the add-in "CATIA2SolidEdge" will appear in the Tools/Add-Ins menu. If it does not, check "CATIA2SolidEdge" in the Add-In Manager dialog (Tools/Add-Ins/Add-In Manager menu).
In case you experience difficulty during installation uncheck the other Add-Ins.
End installation.

Reading CATIA Files

In SolidEdge, go to File Open menu and select one of three CATIA extensions "*.model" (CATIA model), "*.dlv", and "*.exp" (CATIA Export files), then select the appropriate CATIA file.

The SolidEdge assemblies and parts created during the conversion are automatically saved in the directory containing the CATIA file.

Options and Settings

CATIA2SolidEdge options are available from the menu Tools/Add-Ins/CATIA2SolidEdge/Properties or from the CATIA2SolidEdge icon in the toolbar.

If the CATIA2SolidEdge icon does not appear in the toolbar you can either right-click on the SolidEdge toolbar and select CATIA2SolidEdge or drag and drop the CATIA2SolidEdge properties icon from the Tools/Customize dialog into the toolbar you wish it to appear.

CATIA Entities Currently Converted

CATIA2SolidEdge is designed to translate only CATIA models that produce SolidEdge assemblies, solids and surfaces.

Other entities like wireframes or drawings are ignored (this conversion is under development). Please let us know at info@radialsoft.com if you are interested in this functionality.

All entities needed for the conversion of a solid are included. For example, a circle used to define the geometry of an edge in the CATIA part will be converted to a SolidEdge edge, but an isolated circle will not be converted.

System

CATIA2SolidEdge works with SolidEdge V12, SolidEdge V14 and SolidEdge V15.

CATIA2SolidEdge is fully functional on Window 2000 and Windows XP.

Evaluation Version

With the evaluation version you can test CATIA2SolidEdge on up to three CATIA files. When loading a CATIA file, a dialog box will appear requesting an unlock code. If you are online click the Internet button and a code will be automatically returned to you. Otherwise an evaluation code can be retrieved at: http://www.radialsoft.com/products/catia2seunlock.htm.

Caution: You need a different code for each file. If you have several files to test, please request several codes.
